Amestris

Amestris is a Unitary State, with a population of about 50 million and a Parliamentary Republic type of Government. The Head of State is the Commander-in-Chief of the Military who holds the title of "Führer" and who concentrates the ranks of Head of State and Head of Government. The country was composed by several former nations, making Amestris very divserse in culture and religion.

Aerugo

Aerugo is a principality located south of Amestris, part of the Triumvirate. Aerugo is a Principality. As a princedom, Aerugo is a much smaller country compared to Amestris and only recently came out of a long war with Amestris, making their alliance very shaky. The country is known as more of a trade country in general and spends little of its time on warfare.

Donbachi

Donbachi is an empire recently solidified forcefully by the actions of Cretan and Aerugan traders from a bunch of disparate clans vying for power and makes up the final part of the Triumvirate. Donbachi men are strong believers in honor and desire to further the cause of their emperor.

The Great Desert

The great desert - an expanse that stretches from Xing to Amestris, and is known for only one thing; the amount of people who die attempting to cross it. This land is inhospitable at the best, and death to anyone fool enough to cross it at worst. Anyone willing to go across this place would either be a brave man or a lunatic.

Xing

Xing is an Empire composed by fifty hereditary clans all under the rule of a single Emperor. The country is heavily ruled by the emperor's whims, and makes up the main purveyor of alcahestry as well a the founding member of the Lianmin.

Creta

Creta is a Federal State composed of several nations reunited under a Union. The Central Government has kept close watch on the States' affairs, allowing a level of autonomy to each local leaders and keeping them as representatives of the former tribes in the Central Government. This decentralization of power has been a trademark of Creta and has brought many conflicts and problems over the years.

Drachma

Drachma is a country located north of the main country of the series, Amestris, and is an egalitarian state under the command of a Premier. A very belligerent state, Drachma is known for its constant on and off struggle against Amestris. They are the country that started the first battle of the war, leading to the world falling into chaos.
